Description:

Microtec's Rasper is a crucial machine in tuber starch processing, designed for high-speed rasping or grating of tuber roots like potatoes and cassava. This process is essential for releasing starch from the fleshy part of the tuber by disintegrating cell walls. Rasping breaks down the tuber cells to maximise starch release, ensuring higher starch yield. Resulting starch slurry, a mixture of pulp, juice, and starch, is the foundation for subsequent starch extraction, dewatering, and drying processes.

This equipment operates with a high-speed rotor equipped with specially designed saw blades. As the roots are fed into the rasper, the turning saw blades rasp the roots layer by layer, efficiently breaking down the tuber cells and releasing the starch. This continuous rasping action ensures thorough disintegration of the tuber, optimising starch extraction and reducing waste.

Microtec's Rasper operates at a high speed, delivering milling efficiency greater than many others in the market, with minimal starch loss in the pulp.
