Microtec's Screw Press is a specialised mechanical dewatering equipment designed for effective solid-liquid separation. It excels in dewatering high-moisture, fibrous materials such as corn germ and fibre in corn starch production.
In this process, dewatering is continuous, achieved by reducing the volume of the material through compression. The compression is driven by the screw's pitch and height during rotation. Wet material is fed into the hopper and conveyed from the inlet to the discharge end. Water is separated by gravity at the inlet end, passing through the screen into a trough. The screw press effectively separates liquids from solids and compresses materials, optimising waste pressing and water drainage.
The robust design of the screw is crucial for accommodating different materials, which may require varying screw speeds, configurations, and screens. This adaptability ensures the screw press can meet a wide range of requirements and processes.
