Description:
De-sanding cyclone is a separation system used to remove sand, abrasive material and any possible small metal piece and coarse particles from potato, cassava, and corn and wheat starch slurry before entering to disc separators and centrifugal sieves.
Depends on the application, it consist of ceramic cyclone body, stainless steel settling tank as well as fully stainless steel structure . Ceramic cyclone ensures minimum wear and long life due to abrasive properties of sand. Depends on the sand content, either single stage or multi stages cyclones are employed.
Design, number of cyclones and using ceramic cyclone would be different for different starch processing systems.
